For new and experienced health and social care workers, training is key to success in providing a quality service. We believe that access to good training shouldn’t be difficult or complicated and that it should support personal development, further education and career opportunities.
JoCo offers training to individuals and organisations in the health and social care sector who seek exciting and innovative ways of reaching their full potential.
- Our training courses are mapped to National Minimum Training Standards – Care Certificate and QCF Diploma Units where appropriate.
- Learner’s workbooks can be used as underpinning knowledge or evidence towards QCF Qualifications
- If you have enjoyed our training, we provide the opportunity to advance your practice. For example becoming a competent trainer for your own organisation through our CREST Train The Trainer Program.
As of April 2015, the Care Certificate is the mandatory induction for Health and Social Care Workers. It is an essential element of training for new staff that ensures they are ready to care. Experienced staff are also required to meet these standards as part of their continuing professional development.
In addition to the Care Certificate, we have developed training courses to support further development for Health and Social Care Workers. These courses enable staff to gain knowledge and understanding of a variety of physical conditions and other care concepts and values.
A six module course of training which develops a good understanding of dementia, person centred care and positive approaches which enable individuals and their families to have a better quality of life.
Three half-day workshops in ‘Music in Care’ – the use of personlised music in a therapeutic way. Workshops are available using either ‘The Soundtrack to My Life’ or ‘My Story in Music’ toolkits. This is a bespoke training experience commissioned by the charity musicworks, the home of ‘Music in Care’.
‘Music in Care’ now also includes our ‘Music at Mealtimes’ course for catering and health and social care staff.
A half-day course in Life Story Work – the importance and application of life stories in care. The course showcases JoCo’s Life Story Toolkit and is designed to give staff the confidence to make Life Stories a reality in their care settings.
The CREST Solution includes materials and training for your organisation’s in-house trainer(s) ensuring that they are competent to deliver a full Care Certificate induction and mandatory update courses.
